Digital Transformation at HPCL Visakh Refinery: Implementation of EPDDMS
HPCL Visakh Refinery faced significant challenges in managing scattered, incomplete, and inconsistent plant documentation, often relying on hard-copy records received from contractors during project handover. These inefficiencies resulted in delays in information retrieval and operational inefficiencies. To overcome these challenges, HPCL implemented an Electronic Project Data and Document Management System [EPDDMS] using the AVEVA Asset Information Management [AIM] solution. This system: Consolidates intelligent 3D models, P&IDs, and engineering data/documents into a centralized digital repository. Ensures data integrity through robust data governance, validating attribute completeness, consistency, and compliance with HPCL information standards. Facilitates secure project data handover and enables seamless migration of legacy documentation. Provides real-time access to actionable data, enhancing operational efficiency, maintenance, and engineering processes. By implementing EPDDMS, HPCL has transformed its data management practices, ensuring improved accessibility, reliability, and efficiency in digital handover and plant operations.
