Vale created a digital platform based on AVEVA™ PI System™ to centralize real-time data from its 35 environmental monitoring stations. Operations teams use simple, readable dashboards with data analytics to visualize and act on information about air and water quality, emissions, weather, and forest fires. This digital platform has decreased operator field trips, reduced emissions, and allowed Vale to quickly respond to potential negative impacts to operations or the environment.
